With a focus on cultivating leadership skills, providing mentorship, and facilitating networking opportunities, WLF serves as a catalyst for our members to achieve their professional and personal goals.

We host an array of events designed to support, encourage, and elevate local women and our next generation of young women leaders.

We strive to create an environment for women to thrive and serve as a beacon for those who aspire to lead, innovate, and inspire within their communities and beyond.

President's Message

Greetings WLF Community,

As I reflect on my first term as president, one moment that stands out on my highlight reel was standing on stage during our annual Women Who Rule Awards and Scholarship Luncheon this past May and seeing the smiles of pride on the faces of our members, donors, supporters and guests.

We celebrated extraordinary community leaders for their outstanding contributions and invested in the future of 32 deserving high school seniors from our Young Women Leaders program, the girls received nearly $60,000 in collegiate scholarships.

That afternoon, I was reminded of a beautiful South African concept I learned some time ago: Ubuntu. Nelson Mandela once defined it as, “If we are to accomplish anything in this world, it will in equal measure be due to the work and achievement of others.” Put simply, I am because we are.

This sentiment is more than a phrase, it is a way of living that celebrates the strength, generosity, and shared success of community. If you attended the luncheon or any of our events throughout the year, you likely witnessed Ubuntu in action. From the WLF board, our members, partners, and sponsors, this is a community united by a common goal that serves the greater good: to make a difference and a lasting impact throughout the Coachella Valley.

It fills me with awe to lead an organization of such dedicated and passionate individuals who come together to support our vision of empowering women leaders and investing in the next generation. Whether you have shared your resources, volunteered your time, or donated funds, your contributions created a ripple effect that expands beyond our valley has helped our young scholars fulfill their dreams of higher education as they enter their freshman year.

For twenty-five years, WLF members, partners, supporters, and generous donors like you have been the heartbeat of our organization. Throughout the 2025–26 season, we invite you to join us in celebrating this milestone anniversary with special member appreciation events. We are, because of you.

This season, we are excited to offer new opportunities for our members to connect with one another. Subscribe to our newsletter to be among the first to know about monthly coffee meetups, networking events, and bespoke experiences curated exclusively for you. Also, stay tuned for our WLF Women in Business Showcase in January, where professional members can highlight their products and services in an engaging, supportive environment. If you are new to WLF, this is the perfect time to learn more about who we are and what we do. Everyone is welcome at our events.

Celebrating twenty-five years of empowering women, empowering women. In the words of our founder, Mary T. Roche, “If you are a woman, you are a leader.”

Let’s make a difference together!

Warmest Regards,

Milestones of Hope and Change

25 Years of  WLF

In 2001, Indian Wells City Council member Mary T. Roche gathered twenty-five visionary businesswomen to form an organization for women, by women.

Together, they created a space to connect, elevate, and empower one another. Today, the Women Leaders Forum of the Coachella Valley is a nonprofit serving community members from all backgrounds and professions.

WLF continues to build upon the founders’ legacy by cultivating leadership, fostering meaningful connections, and ensuring their legacy for years to come by investing in the next generation of women leaders through its educational scholarship program.

In the words of founder, Mary T. Roche, “If you’re a woman, you’re a leader.”
