TAKE THE LEAD is this year’s theme at Women Leaders Forum. There has never been a time in history where women have more potential to become whatever we want and have been given more opportunity to launch ourselves into leadership.
Our 2008 Annual Leadership Conference, held this past October and attended by more than 200 women, provided a forum for us to ask ourselves some profound questions: What kind of leader am I now and what kind of leader do I want to be in the future? What questions do I need to ask myself before I step even further in to the shoes of leadership? How do I maintain my focus and vision of myself with all the competing demands on my life?
As we face the uncertain and challenging times in our world today, it is even more important that we continue to ask ourselves and each other these questions. And it is critical that each of us reflects on the question of how we can positively lead in our own personal arenas. Some of us lead companies, some of us lead families, some of us lead organizations—some of us do all three—and all of us have the power to lead ourselves into the type of future we desire.
We also have the power to help each other, and we are committed to doing just that at WLF. We are pleased to announce that we are starting a Take the Lead Educational Series early next year to provide leadership training to our members. Desert Women Entrepreneurs continues to host inspiring and educational speakers to move our members toward business growth and personal expansion. And our scholarships and educational programs for young women, Young Women Ambassadors and Wall Street Teens, continue to inspire and teach the leaders of tomorrow.
Now is the time to renew your commitment to Women Leaders Forum and the leadership role we have in the Coachella Valley. Your resources – time, support and financial – are what continue to further our premier women’s organization’s programs and services, and change lives in the process.
