I was very happy to see the “Girls teach kindness, not cattiness” article as it pertains to what we have been doing at our school. At Desert Hot Springs High School, we had a “Kindness Week” to inform students about the realities of “girl-against-girl crime.” Our mission was to bring awareness to the lasting affects of abuse in the girl world. We handed out flyers with statistics about bullying and we encouraged everyone to wear pink in support of our campaign. We also had a rally/assembly that brought attention to the cause on a slightly larger scale. Not only are we campaigning at our school but at our local middle school.
With the extension of the Kind Campaign through the high school and middle school this past week, there will be an impression forever embedded in our community.
