College
Access Foundation of California and the Coachella Valley Economic Partnership
(CVEP) launched the Pathways to Success program in 2008. Pathways to Success is
designed to organize a regional collaborative that engages the entire Coachella Valley
in the effort to get more local students into and through college. In order to
increase the amount of support available, Pathways to Success matches funds
earmarked for college scholarships by selected organizations.
In
2010, Pathways to Success will match $12,500 from Women Leaders Forum of
the Coachella Valley. In addition to the financial
award, scholarship recipients receive substantial student support through
educational workshops, a mentorship program, and a student-run network.
“WLF is thrilled to have been selected as a 2010 Matching
Partner by Pathways to Success,” says WLF President Kate Spates. “The
matching partnership with Pathways to Success will allow us to double the
dollar amount of WLF’s 2010 scholarship awards to deserving young women from Coachella Valley high schools.”
Since
Women Leaders Forum’s inception in 2001, WLF has provided more than $100,000 in
college scholarships.
